Markit says Russia’s Manufacturing PMI rises to 51.7 in November

MOSCOW, Dec 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) grew to 51.7 in November from 51.6 in October, rising above than the 50 no-change mark, which signals an overall expansion of activity in the sector, researcher IHS Markit said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The headline seasonally adjusted IHS Markit Russia Manufacturing PMI registered 51.7 in November, fractionally higher than 51.6 recorded in October, to signal a second successive improvement in operating conditions across the Russian manufacturing sector. The upturn was the fastest for six months,” the researcher said.

Senior Economist at IHS Markit Sian Jones said, as quoted in the statement, “Russian manufacturers continued to register growth across the sector in November, as firms recorded expansions in output and new orders for the third month running. Although the upturns were historically subdued, they were the fastest for six months.”
